  Tri update news

While triathlon in Vanuatu has been in a bit of a lull over the last couple of years, there are plans to resurrect the club atmosphere of a few years back with regular training sessions being planned. Mike Thompson, of the Beach Bar (formerly Nippers) in Mele Bay by the Hideaway landing, has volunteered to get things going again in the not too distant future. Events are likely to include mountain bikes, and given the current state of Port Vila roads this option has far more opportunities for a variety of courses. Following the changes to the old Rossi and the difficulty of using this area for a transition area, a new venue was needed. Nippers Bar has great possibilities being on the beach at Mele Bay with a large car park alongside.

Meanwhile other activities such as Hash House Harriers on a Monday evening at 5.30pm http://hhh.longvanuatu.com and Sunday morning mountain biking 7.00am from USP roundabout are quite strong! Similarly the annual AFA Fun Run held in July was a great success and will be just as good in July 2010.
