Bryn and Sue Burnett have advised that after four years of coordinating the VTA events, they will only be able to assist in a limited capacity this year. They wish to thank the support of sponsors over the years, and also the many other volunteers who
have helped make the last four years such a success.
The VTA is in a stable financial position and they have assured that the Tusker Triathlon du Paradis will continue to be a significant international event on the Vanuatu calendar in the future. However this year, unforeseen events have conspired against us but we will still be holding the
event on Sunday 16 September. With the loss of the Rossi car park and transition area and hence access to the swim course, this year's event will be a duathlon from Korman Stadium and will be the same format as our normal club August duathlon. Apologies to the strong swimmers out there.
The whole Rossi complex is a building site at the moment as a new development is being built, so a new venue may have to be sought for next year's Tusker Tri du Paradis.
The Anchor Kids Tryathlon series at Le Meridien commenced Sunday 27 May under the guidance of Rod and Karin O'Connor and is being held for four months on the last Sunday of the month. Registration commences sharp at 0800 at Le Meridien Beach. Thanks to Anchor and Le Meridien for their continued support. Rod and Karin can be contacted at ph 25702 or email oconnor@vanuatu.com.vu

Every September the Vanuatu Triathlon Association holds the Triathlon du
Paradis in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Although this year will be a Duathlon, next year is planned to be bigger than ever.
One of the most satisfying aspects of our triathlon is that it attracts people of all ages and abilities, and regularly attracts competitors from New Caledonia, New Zealand and Australia who enjoy a week or two's holiday in the tropics. This is a small lifestyle triathlon which normally has a total of about 70 competitors including around 10 from overseas.

The Triathlon du Paradis has special meaning to members of the Vanuatu Triathlon Association as it is our annual championships.

The full duathlon course will be a 4km run (two 2km laps) followed by a 20km bike (two 10km laps), then the same 4km run. This course is the same one that we have used for previous duathlons.
It all takes place from the open area beside Korman Stadium and will commence at 7.00am Sunday 16 September.
For those who don't feel like doing the full event, there is also a half course.
Entry fee costs are yet to be decided because of the change of event.

We are also pleased to offer the ANCHOR Kid's Tryathlon
series. The dates for the 2007 events are the last Sunday in the month starting 27 May.
